West Side Vintage
Hello dolls! I hope you are all staying warm! I can't say the same for myself in freezing Cleveland. We can't seem to catch a break with the weather up here.
I wanted to inform all of you of a very very very exciting new adventure that myself and my best friend Ally are embarking on. We just started our own vintage clothing/home goods/accessories company called West Side Vintage. We put so much work into this, although we can't really complain about going thrifting and hanging out together ;)
Ally and I have been friends for 9 years now. In most ways we are basically the same person and can finish each others sentences. But our style is a different story. We have very different style but that creates a large, unique, collection of carefully curated items so everyone is sure to find something they love. We are both constantly evolving and our style is always changing. Our love of music and a passion for art inspires us to find very unique pieces that will be a one of a kind addition to your wardrobe.
I know a lot of vintage clothing shops online have a very strict policy of not selling ANYTHING that isn't at least 20 years old but we don't believe in limiting ourselves to a strict code. There are so many times we will be thrifting and find an amazing designer piece of a vintage inspired item that is just too good to pass up. If we find something great we want to be able to pass it on to you!
I hope you guys will give our shop a gander and let me know what you think!

I've been on a crafting craze recently and have been making a ton of different projects. I wish I could work from home everyday and craft!

MASON JAR MANIA
This Mason Jar Tumbler thing has REALLY taken off! I have been making them almost constantly since I added them to my Etsy store. It's been crazy just trying to keep up with the amount of orders I've received! I can't complain though because I love making them.

Kitchen Chalkboard | DIY
In my house we have a serious spice issue. The spices are all over the place and constantly on the counter instead of in the cabinet...it drives me nuts. So I decided to make this adorable magnetic chalkboard to go above the stove that will (eventually) have spices jars on it. I purchased 6 little jars to start off with and am going to attach a magnet to the lid. When they are on the chalkboard you can write which spice it is underneath. I also liked it for hanging a recipe that you are making right above the stove.
To make it I purchased an 11"x16" picture frame from Target. I also purchased a 12"x18" piece of sheet metal from Lowes. I then took the glass out of the frame and put it on top of the sheet metal and traced around it. I used tough kitchen shears to trim the sheet metal to the 11"x16" that I needed.
I then sprayed the metal with Rust Oleum metal primer and then sprayed it with chalkboard paint.
I also sprayed the picture frame (which was originally black) this great teal color (my favorite color).
I love how it looks! And maybe this will solve our spice issue (but probably not haha).

Wanelo
Have you guys heard of the app/website called Wanelo? {Proceed with caution: Wanelo is extremely addictive} It is basically Pinterest but it directs you to where you can buy everything you see on there. It is AMAZING.
Well, I posted a link to my Leopard Print Mason Jar Tumbler yesterday and I can't believe how many people have "saved" it (basically the same as repinning it)!
Now if only I would sell some of them I'd be happy! :)

Graphic Design Posters
I have been doing a lot more graphic design recently and have been making a few posters that I am going to sell in my new Etsy shop www.cgrecodesign.etsy.com.
The bottom poster I made and had printed for my cousin, Abbie, as a wedding gift. She is a huge Fifty Shades of Grey fan and I loved the relationship advice "choose your battles" (clearly since I had it tattooed on me haha).

Mason jar fun!
I've been having so much fun making these mason jar cups! Here are some pictures of some of my most recent ones. I've been switching it up by spray painting the whole top glossy vibrant colors on some and even experimenting with chalkboard paint on others. I love them!

Let's be honest here...
If any of you reading are like me then you are on Pinterest more than you would like to admit.
You know those painfully organized, beautiful, bright, darling craft rooms that people post pictures of? Well, I hate to admit that my craft space looks like the exact opposite of that.
I WISH I could be that organized but honestly when I'm sewing and working I'm throwing scraps of fabric and thread in every direction - by the time I'm finished with a project I want to A) Relax or B) Stare at my finished project. Cleaning up my mess isn't really on my agenda. It's bad, really it is. But I thought I would share a photo of my work area because I think a little honesty never hurt. How many people can really have beautiful, perfect craft rooms out there? (Here's to hoping that all my readers aren't wonderful neat freaks and die when they see my mess)
I'm hoping that some of you out there will see my office and think "Yes, that looks more like my craft area". I don't have adorable little boxes where I store my things (I mean I'm using a fishing tackle box for sewing supply storage for heaven's sake - you don't get much less adorable than that) and I don't have super functional shelving on my walls (because my apartment building was built in probably 1920 and I think it might fall down if I tried to hang shelves on the wall) and I don't have hip, anthropologie inspired home decor items all over (because why am I going to waste what limited space I have with things that are just for decoration?). I just have a room that is filled as much as possible with things that I need to do the things I love.
This one is for the messy girls out there. Now excuse me while I go change into my pajamas and proceed to throw my clothes all over the floor.

Chevron...Finally!
I have been dying for some chevron fabric for...I can't even remember how long. Pretty close to a year now. My favorite fabric shop didn't carry any and I surprisingly got confused looks when I asked someone at Joann's if they carried any.
Well, I stopped by my fave fabric shop, Stitch Cleveland, today and they had chevron! I was so excited! I picked some up in teal and a nice, rich orange. I really wanted black and gray but it is on backorder so they should be getting it in soon. And you can bet I will be stopping to pick some up right when they get it in.
I can't wait to make a few Braided Belt Messenger Bags with the fabric!
I'm currently making a messenger bag that was custom ordered but right when I finish I'm starting a chevron messenger bag.
Ahh...it's the little things in life... ❤
